Our Mission
The mission of the ATNI Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is to
act on the member tribes behalf with respect to income producing
enterprises collectively owned by the tribes, providing economic
development as a separate and distinct entity from the tribal
governments.
Our primary purposes are:
- To develop tribal resources in an orderly manner and to maximize
shareholder (member tribe) wealth derived from such resources on
behalf of the member tribes.
- To assist the professionalization of ATNI member tribe’s
enterprise management.
- To provide opportunities for investing tribal (member tribe) and
corporate resources in future enterprises based on viability,
feasibility, efficiency, profitability and sustainability, and placing
emphasis on specific projects (i.e. tourism, forestry, housing, and
gaming).

To generate surplus revenue inuring to the benefit of the
corporation with surplus revenues used to provide necessary ATNI
governmental services to member tribes.
- To improve the flow of capital to tribal-owned enterprises from
all sectors of the capital market.
Our customers are:
- Tribal Governments and Tribal Enterprises looking for
financial resources and technical assistance.
- Financial Services Organizations looking to make
investments or develop economic partnerships in Indian Country.
- State and Federal Agencies and Non-profit Organizations (NGOs)
whose missions include business, economic, or community development
partnerships with Indian Country.
- Commercial Sector Organizations who want to do business in
Indian Country.
- Local non-tribal governments that want to work more closely
with tribal governments.
Our principle products are:
- Bank Lending to establish effective communication, speed up
the loan process, and increase cost effectiveness.
- Gap Financing/Revolving Loan Fund that is flexible to
market demand, sufficiently autonomous, promotes both inter and
intra-tribal partnerships, with an emphasis on value added to tribal
production, and export from reservation lands.
- Equity Funding to find and facilitate equity investment and
development of a venture capital company.
- Bond Financing to educate underwriters/lawyers of how
business works in Indian Country, educate tribes on how they can use
bond financing, and establish tribal relations with bond underwriters.
- Program Development Services to develop and coordinate
programs that support individual member tribes' economic development
priorities, while promoting regional collaboration between ATNI member
tribes on economic development efforts related to governance, tourism,
energy, telecommunications, technology and transportation.
- Management Services to strengthen management in tribally
owned businesses, technical assistance to businesses, including
executive recruitment, participation on boards of tribal enterprises,
loaned executive programs, financial management services, management
and operational audits for tribal enterprises.
- Joint Venture Partnership to facilitate joint venture
relationships between Tribes and the private sector.
