The Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians Economic Development Corporation (ATNI-EDC) publishes two widely circulated tribal tourism publications that provide a unique glimpse into the diverse cultures and traditions of the many tribal communities that exist throughout the states of Washington and Oregon. The award-winning 2004 Inaugural issue of A Travel Guide to Indian Country was the first Native produced publication ever to be completed in the Northwest region. This publication is responsible for bringing all 29 Tribes, residing in separate regions of Washington State, together to collectively develop and promote a single industry for the betterment of all tribal communities. In 2005, ATNI-EDC released the Oregon edition with the guidance and support of the 9 Tribes within Oregon State. Both publications have provided many small, rural Tribes with an additional opportunity for job creation and economic growth. In addition, every Tribe has been given a unique opportunity to share their individual and diverse tribal histories and stories to the non-Indian community.
